In addition to spending $35,000 on Harry Winston diamond jewelry, Rihanna also plunked down $100,000 on a black-and-white photograph taken in 1949.
“Elizabeth Taylor at the Eden Roc” was photographed by Willy Rizzo. Taylor had just starred as Amy in Little Women, her last adolescent role. She was 17. Rizzo was born in Italy and moved to France in the 1930s as a young boy. He started photographing in the streets of Paris, at the age of 12. He later came to America to photograph celebrities.
