The protagonist of the new ABC comedy Selfie is Eliza Dooley, a young, self-obsessed Web star (like DWTS sensation Bethany Mota, though a little more self-centered) who has been the victim of a minor fappening of her own. After an embarrassing video of her has been leaked, Eliza (Doctor Who’s Karen Gillan) decides to change her image by hiring a marketing expert at her company, Henry (Harold and Kumar’s John Cho). It’s supposed to be a new, ‘digital’ version of the Pygmalion story, hence, the character names and roles.
Selfie is written and exec produced by Emily Kapnek (Suburgatory) and premieres Tuesday, September 30 at 8/7c.
