Professional race car driver Michael Waltrip will leave his car on the track to dance on the stage with professional dancer Emma Slater on Season 19 of Dancing With The Stars. His task of winning the competition won’t be easy. Not because he has absolutely no dance experience but due to his physique. The 51-year-old is 6’5” and weighs in at 210 lbs. But he won’t let that get in his way. Waltrip is known to cheat.
We’re not sure how a contestant can cheat in a dance contest but at the qualifying round for the 2007 Daytona 500, NASCAR found evidence that Waltrip’s team had used an illegal fuel additive in their car. Two people were removed from the speedway and suspended indefinitely. There were fines to be paid, and Waltrip was docked 100 driver points (a huge set-back in racing). And then in 2013, NASCAR penalized Waltrip’s team again – the biggest penalty in NASCAR history, $300,000 – for intentionally manipulating the outcome of the Federated Auto Parts 400 race. Waltrip just might bring a new definition of Dirty Dancing to DWTS.
