Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice are facing jail time on bankruptcy and fraud charges. (Joe is facing 47 months and deportation; Teresa 44 months.) Their sentencing is scheduled for September 23.
Teresa Giudice has been telling people that she doesn’t believe she will be sent to jail because she is the mother of four children. That’s not how the legal system works, and Jessie Jackson Jr. and his wife Sandi are proof of it. In 2013, the former Democratic Representative of Illinois pleaded guilty to conspiring with his wife to illegally spending $750k in campaign funds on personal expenses. Jackson got 30 months, his wife 12 months. The judge did grant one request from the couple since they have two children (ages 9 and 13), that they be allowed to serve their sentences one at a time.
