The creators of the popular Pokemon franchise announced a new Nintendo game this week. It’s a fighting game called Pokken Tournament. The problem is you’ll need to visit Japan in order to play the beta version at an arcade, sometime in 2015. (Japanese Wii U gamers, and the rest of society, will have to wait.)
The North American subsidiary of The Pokemon Company released a one-minute, translated trailer to gauge American interest. Gamer101 thinks a Pokemon fighting game is an interesting idea. He/she wrote on GameRant: “Well we’ve had dungeon crawlers (Mystery Dungeon), photography games (Snap) and drawing games (the new Art Academy) with the pocket monsters, so why not a fighter. As long as they don’t make a Pokemon kart racer.” (That’s a jab at Nintendo’s new video game Mario Kart 8 which surpassed 1 million units in US sales alone).
