Actress and new mom Olivia Wilde has joined the ranks of celebrities being photographed while breastfeeding. The photo of Wilde breastfeeding her 5-month-old son, Otis, was taken during a fashion photo shoot for Glamour. She’s wearing a Roberto Cavalli dress and Prada shoes.
During the interview that accompanies the photo, Wilde said: “You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed.” She added, “[But] I mean, I certainly don’t really look like that when I’m [typically] breastfeeding. And there’s usually a diaper involved.” Most comments on the Internet regarding the pic have been positive or at least cautiously so. Anya J wrote on Yahoo! Health: “I think people are more accepting of breast feeding in public if it is more discreet, but this is all out in your face.”
