Before the Season 12 winner of America’s Got Talent is announced, a number of accomplished performers will perform including Kelly Clarkson, Shania Twain, and James Arthur. Americans know the first two but James Arthur is not yet a household name in the States.
[James Arthur’s second album is Back From the Edge]
James Arthur is the British singer/songwriter who won Simon Cowell’s The X Factor in 2012. The 29-year-old’s debut single, “Impossible” (released by Cowell’s record label Syco), sold more than 1.4 million copies in the UK. However, after making an unfortunate comment and “self-medicating” himself, Arthur was dropped from Syco in 2014. He went on to release his second album Back from the Edge with Columbia Records, and then was re-signed with Syco in September 2016. In August 2017, James Arthur was nominated as “Best Breakout Artist” at the Teen Choice Awards (Chance the Rapper won). America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
