Since members of the actors union SAG-AFTRA are officially on strike (and cannot promote their upcoming projects and/or walk the red carpet), fans are hoping celebrities — in the interim — will share more personal photos and stories on social media.
As seen below, Hollywood movie star Zoe Saldana (whose new series with Nicole Kidman, Special Ops: Lioness, will be released on Paramount+ on July 23 — see London premiere photos above) just dropped a photo bomb of her favorite family photos (and video) taken during June.
As documented in the photos above, Saldana, who’s best known for her roles in the Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise and James Cameron’s Avatar movies, celebrated a number of milestones last month.
The star turned 45 (Slide #1 and #7), she celebrated the last day of school with her three children and her husband of 10 years, Marco Perego Saldaña, with a smooch (Slide #3), and went sightseeing in Paris (Slides #9 and #10).
When observant Marvel Cinematic Universe fans went through the photo dump, more than one passionately replied to “THE BABY GROOT STUFFED ANIMAL” in the background of Saldana’s birthday pics.
Groot is an extraterrestrial tree monster in Marvel Comics “who initially came to Earth seeking humans to capture and study.” Baby Groot, Groot’s son, is voiced by Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious) in the short series I Am Groot.
The strike will keep fans and their favorite stars apart for a little while, but that’s okay. Avatar fans have to wait until December 19, 2025 anyway to see Saldana as Neytiri in Avatar 3.
