Hollywood movie star Ruth Negga is known for her work on stage and screen. The Ethiopian-born, Ireland-raised actress made a big splash in the entertainment business with her role as Mildred Loving in the 2016 historical drama film, Loving.
Mildred Loving (a Black woman) and her White husband, Richard Loving, were criminally charged with interracial marriage in Virginia, fled the state to avoid being jailed, and then sued the State of Virginia, in the 1967 landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Loving v. Virginia, which overturned the law. Negga was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal.
When not on a movie set, Negga often models, as seen below in a tiny black buckle bra and sheer white skirt — both by design label Miu Miu.

Negga is also known for her role in the 2021 Netflix film Passing with Tessa Thompson. Set in 1920s New York City, the film features the relationship between a black woman (Thompson) and her white-passing friend Clare (Negga). Passing is based on the novel of the same title by the late Nella Larsen, novelist of the Harlem Renaissance.
Get ready to see more of Negga: she will appear next in the upcoming dramatic crime series Presumed Innocent with Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, Donnie Darko). It’s about “a horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office when one of its own is suspected of the crime.”
