Actress Jameela Jamil is best known for her role as Tahani in the NBC comedy The Good Place (2016-2020) with Kristen Bell and Ted Danson. Since then, she’s starred in the series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin with Adam DeVine and Sarah Hyland.
Like every SAG-AFTRA card-carrying member, Jamil is currently on strike. As seen below on the picket line, Jamil turned heads in an off-shoulder mini dress (by Reformation) and a pair of white platform Chelsea booties (by ASOS).
With the photo, Jamil wrote: “Proud and sad to be picketing for the basic equity of the people who make our beautiful industry. Not just actors, but the writers and all the people we lose if A.I. replaces on screen artists. We will lose props, set departments, hair departments, make up artists, prosthetics, camera crews, transpo, lighting, caterers, stunt teams and background artists. All of whom are VITAL to the creation of dynamic, soulful work.”
Jamil’s fans appreciate her words and approve of her fashionable ensemble. As stand-up comedian Katherine Ryan replied: “STRIKE but make it fashion.”
Prior to the strike, Jamil wore another stunning strapless mini dress (by Alexander McQueen) to Wimbledon with her husband, musician James Blake, see above.
Get ready to see, er, hear more of Jamil: she stars (as a voice-over actor) in the upcoming animated Disney movie Elio with America Ferrera (Superstore, Ugly Betty) and Brad Garrett (Everyone Loves Raymond). Elio is scheduled for a March 1, 2024 release.
