English supermodel Naomi Campbell, who turned 53 in May, is known for walking the runway — but she launched her career in a music video. In 1978, at the age of 8, Campbell appeared in Bob Marley‘s video for ‘Is This Love’ (see below).
At the age of 13, Campbell tap-danced in Culture Club‘s 1983 music video ‘I’ll Tumble 4 Ya.’
At age 20, Campbell — with fellow, newly coined supermodels Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, and Cindy Crawford — starred in George Michael‘s famous music video for ‘Freedom! ’90,’ which was directed by David Fincher, who went on to direct movies including three starring Brad Pitt (Seven, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), among others.
Campbell has worked with several musicians over the years and has developed a friendship with the legendary former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney.
On his birthday, Campbell shared the photo below, of her cuddled with McCartney and wrote: “This is what 81 looks like 🙌🏾🙌🏾, Joyful, Happy and Loved .. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR Paul McCartney legend what fun to stand beside you dancing to our Queen B (Beyonce).”
Fans of Campbell and McCartney are going wild over the photo and are wishing the octogenarian happiness, too. As one replied: “Happy Birthday🌹 Sir Paul McCartney. Thank you for all the beautiful music you’ve given us and will continue to give us for many years to come. I love you and the world loves you.”
McCartney thanked everyone for the birthday wishes with the photo above.
