Hours before news broke about ABC not renewing its crime drama Big Sky after its third season, one of the show’s stars, country music legend Reba McEntire, picked up a golf club and took a swing.
As seen in the video below, McEntire (in the camo vest) pitches the golf ball over a stone gate. According to the off-camera voice, it sounds like McEntire “got another break.”

Be sure to watch McEntire after her ball lands: She turns to her “team” which is a longhorn bull and says, “my team and I like what we do.”
McEntire’s fans and famous friends are loving the video. Fellow country singer Tanya Tucker replied: “Hole in !!” and McEntire’s Big Sky co-star Jamie Lynn Sigler (see below with guest stars Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker) replied: “Love it!”
McEntire doesn’t mention the cancelation of Big Sky. But fans shouldn’t worry: she will appear next in the upcoming series Fried Green Tomatoes, based on the movie and book, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe.
McEntire plays the protagonist, Idgie Threadgoode (who was played by Mary Stuart Masterson in the 1991 film), who “returns to Whistle Stop after a decade away” and “must wrestle with a changed town, estranged daughter, faltering café and life-changing secret.”
Note: ABC also canceled first-year shows Alaska Daily starring two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank and The Company You Keep starring This Is Us alum Milo Ventimiglia.
