Actress Yara Shahidi is best known for her role as teenage daughter Zoey in black-ish with Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, and in her spin-off series grown-ish, which follows Zoey to college.
The now 23-year-old star is now celebrating her choices and being honored on the cover of People magazine after “a whirlwind of big career moves and an Ivy League graduation.” Shahidi earned her B.A. from Harvard University. (Fun fact: Former first lady Michelle Obama wrote her a letter of recommendation to Harvard.)
As seen above, the Ivy League grad Shahidi is turning heads in a white hot crop-top summer dress with black platform Mary Jane stilettos.
People says with the photos and video (that’s Sade‘s famous song ‘Smooth Operator’ she’s dancing to), Shahidi “spills on becoming Tinker Bell” in the upcoming movie Peter Pan & Wendy, and “getting comfortable with real-life adulting.”
Peter Pan & Wendy — which stars Jude Law (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain) as Captain Hook, Alexander Molony (The Bad Seed Returns) as Peter Pan and Ever Anderson (Black Widow) as Wendy — will be released in theaters on Friday, April 28.
