The sometimes troubled but always persevering actress and singer Demi Lovato punched her ticket to Israel — and the tip to the Holy Land filled a “God-sized hole in (her) heart.” Lovato, who was raised Christian but counts some Jewish ancestry, said the trip was a life changing event.
She was baptized in the waters of the River Jordan — “the same place Jesus was baptized” — and Lovato says she “never felt more renewed” in her life.

But the same heart that had just had its God-sized hole filled in was “absolutely broken” when Lovato visited Yad Vashem: World Holocaust Center in Jerusalem. Any heart would break, of course, considering the atrocity of the Holocaust and remembering its victims.
