Director/writer/producer/transgender rights activist Janet Mock is one of the co-executive producers of the new FX series POSE. Created by American Horror Story masterminds Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy, POSE begins in New York City’s gender-nonconforming ballroom culture scene in the late 1980s. The second season begins in 1990, when many of the characters are hit by the AIDS pandemic.
According to her memoir Redefining Realness: My Path to Womanhood, Identity, Love & So Much More, Mock began her transition as a freshman in high school, and funded her medical transition by earning money as a sex worker in her teens.
When not on the POSE set, Mock is enjoying her downtime. Six months after filing for divorce from photographer Aaron Tredwell, Mock posted the beautiful bikini pic above and wrote: “Feeling revived after bathing in saltwater, basking in sunshine and sipping on tequila.”
In the bikini photo directly above, Mock wrote in May: “My man took this pic.” She has referred to POSE star Angel Bismark Curiel (Lil Papi) as her man before…
POSE has been renewed for a third season. Oprah magazine is predicting a summer 2020 premiere. [NOTE: Watch all FX shows with the FXNOW app, free to download]
