The Dateline episode “Before Midnight” investigates the 2014 murder of Pam Zimmerman. The 53-year-old successful businesswoman was a mother of three teenagers — 17-year-old David and 15-year-old twin daughters Rachel and Heidi — and was about to remarry. On November 4, 2014, she was found shot to death in her Bloomington, Illinois office. Her ex-husband Kirk Zimmerman (they had divorced in 2012) was charged with her death. In May 2019, after a five-week trial, a jury found him not guilty.

Zimmerman’s neighbor and friend Julie Koh was the person who found her body. At the trial, Koh testified to what she saw when she entered Zimmerman’s office the day after she was murdered. Koh said, “I saw Pam lying there in a fetal position without apparent signs of life.” The case remains unsolved. Dateline airs Mondays at 10 pm on NBC, right after American Ninja Warrior.
