In the Single Parents episode “Lance Bass Space Camp,” single dad Will (Taran Killam) realizes he forgot to send in the deposit for his daughter Sophie (Marlow Barkley) to attend space camp. In order to get her a spot at the popular camp, Will now has to woo the owner of the company, former NSYNC boy band member Lance Bass. Bass famously went though several months of cosmonaut training in the U.S. and Russia order to get a seat on the TMA-1 mission to the International Space Station in 2002. But Bass didn’t get a spot because, according to MSNBC, the Russians said Bass’ private backers “didn’t come up with a significant payment toward the estimated $20 million cost of his training and flight.”
[You can chill with a life-size Lance Bass too]
Lance Bass, now married and a dad at 39, didn’t get to go to space but he did get to touch a star on Earth. Last year, he and his fellow NSYNC band mates including Justin Timberlake received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame (see photo below). Single Parents airs Wednesdays at 9:30 pm on ABC, right after Modern Family.
