In The Goldbergs episode “This Is This Is Spinal Tap,” The Dropouts are thrilled when they book a gig at a Flyers charity carnival and Adam uses the opportunity to make his very first rockumentary. Since Barry doesn’t want to miss out on the fun, he forces his way onto the band, despite his sister’s objections. Meanwhile, Beverly’s (Wendi McLendon-Covey) concerns about Murray’s (Jeff Garlin) health push him to the limit. They go see Dr. Emry.

[Check out Spiner in Independence Day]
Dr. Emry is portrayed by actor Brent Spiner. He’s best known for his roles as Data in the Star Trek movies and Dr. Brakish Okun in the Independence Day movies. Spiner is also recognized for his roles on Warehouse 13 (Brother Adrian), Treshold (Dr. Nigel Fenway), and Night Court (Bob Wheeler), among others. Fun fact: Spiner made his debut on the big screen in Woody Allen’s 1980 movie Stardust Memories. The Goldbergs airs Wednesdays at 8pm on ABC right before its spin-off Schooled.
