On Season 16 of The Voice, 17-year-old Celia Babini sang the Billie Eilish song “Idontwannabeyouanymore” for her Blind Audition. Almost immediately, three coaches – Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine – hit their buzzers. John Legend eventually turned his chair too. The young New York City native was first wooed by John who said he heard a little Adele, Florence, and Fiona Apple in her voice and yet sounded like herself. Blake called the performance “captivating.” Adam told Celia, “It is my dream for you to win The Voice. It’s just time for a different kind of winner for this show.” Celia chose Adam as her coach.
Celia doesn’t just sound good, she’s also has a unique look — no doubt thanks to her mother, fashion designer Bonnie Young. Bonnie launched her career at Ralph Lauren after graduating from Cornell. She worked for Donna Karan, where she eventually became Creative Director of Collection for the company. Celia’s father is Italian-born fashion photographer Luca Babini. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm on NBC.
