In the Speechless episode “J-I– JIMMY V-A-L– VALENTINE”, while JJ’s (Micah Fowler) love-match with Izzy (Kayla Maisonet) becomes a cage match with Kenneth, Maya (Minnie Driver) and Jimmy (John Ross Bowie) dismiss Valentine’s Day as a holiday for suckers. That is, until they find a way to profit from it. At work — Jimmy works at the baggage lost and found at South Bay Airlines — he is approached by an angry traveler who’s carting around several boxes of long stemmed red roses.
The man heckling Jimmy at work is stand-up comedian Eddie Pepitone. The native New Yorker has played a variety of characters from a dying patient on ER, a postman in The Muppets movie, to a homeless guy on Malcolm in the Middle. Pepitone is perhaps best recognized for his performances on The Sarah Silverman Show (as himself) and in the 2003 Will Ferrell film Old School as Archer. Speechless airs Fridays at 8:30 pm on ABC, right after Fresh off the Boat and right before 20/20.
