In the Vanderpump Rules episode “So Vain in Solvang,” while Lala Kent invites her girlfriends on a jet to travel to the Solvang, a Danish-style town in southern California known for its wineries, James Kennedy is in Los Angeles and he’s miserable. He has an explosive fight with his mother, Jacqueline Georgiou, who reminds him that she’s not a sh*tty mother and that he took his first steps in Tiffany’s. (She makes the association, not us.)
Jacqueline and her ex-husband Andros Georgiou got James his first job at SUR five years ago. He started out as a busboy and then became DJ, but that — as we all know — didn’t work out. Now James is trying to get his brother Harry a job at SUR. James and Harry meet SUR manager Peter Madrigal at the restaurant when co-owner Guillermo Zapata stops in.

Guillermo says he doesn’t need a busboy — what he needs is a DJ because James “f–ked it up.” However, Guillermo says he’ll let Harry train for two weeks and see. James tries to put in a good word for Harry by saying, “He’s a hard worker,” which Guillermo dismisses. “That’s what I heard about you,” he says.
James admits that Guillermo’s jabs hurt. The minute Guillermo leaves the table, James breaks down in tears. Harry tries to console his brother. “I know you work hard. You made a couple of mistakes, you’re alright.” He adds, “You know you need a little bit of tough love.” Peter is still at the table, btw. That’s got to be one of the most awkward interviews at SUR.
