On the fifth episode of The Bachelor, Season 23, Colton and his harem of now 13 women leave Singapore and travel to Thailand. Never-been-kissed-before bachelorette Heather gets the first one-on-one date with Colton. Together they take a scenic boat ride along the country’s coast which ends at the “floating city” of Ko Panyi, a fishing village built on stilts.

Ko Panyi was built on stilts by Indonesian fisherman. The village has a population of about 1,685 people (360 families) descended from two Muslim families in Java. While t-shirts and jeans are acceptable, it is a Muslim community, so women should not wear short skirts or shorts. Fun facts: There are 13 teachers with 200 pupils, and there is only one policeman on the island, a cop “who has very little to do.” Ko Panyi was also featured on Season 19 of The Amazing Race. The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 pm on ABC. [BONUS: Stream any ABC show through the ABC Digital App found here. Download is FREE.]
