In the Hallmark Channel Winterfest movie Winter Castle, Jenny (Emilie Ullerup, Chesapeake Shores) is already excited about her sister Meg (Melanie Mullen) getting married. But when she finds out the destination wedding is at an ice hotel, Jenny is tickled pink. When Jenny arrives at the ice hotel — where every piece of furniture including the beds is made of ice — she falls in love with the magical décor. She also falls in love with the handsome best man, Craig (Kevin McGarry).
[This documentary features the famous Ice Hotel in Sweden]
The Ice Hotel featured in the film isn’t a made-up place — it’s real and in Quebec City, Canada. The Hotel de Glace — the only ice hotel in North America — is made entirely of snow and ice and includes a chapel, ice slide, and popular Ice Bar. There are a number of amenities included in a night’s stay including free WiFi in all rooms, however pets are not allowed and rollaway beds are not available for obvious reasons! Or you can just visit for the day — the Hotel de Glace is open from January to March. Winter Castle premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, December 5 at 8 pm.
