So So Def Records music producer Jermaine Dupri is back for the fifth season of The Rap Game. On the premiere episode “The Battle Begins,” Dupri will introduce America to six new young rappers who are vying for a contract with his record label. There are three teenage boys and three girls competing this season:
- Tyeler Reign, 16, from Los Angeles, opened for Busta Rhymes and Silento
- Nya Kasan, 16, from Detroit, who’s with her momanger, “Ebony the Empress”
- Eli Triplett, 15, from Chattanooga, raised by his single dad
- Queen Amayah, 15, from Miami
- Sire, 14, who lives in a trailer in the Atlanta woods with his family of 10
- Lil Richye, 13, from Charlotte where his family runs a record label

The two eldest contestants, 16-year-old girls Tyeler Reign and Nya Kasan are going to go head-to-head. While Tyeler Reign — who has a sneaker deal with Vlado — might have more experience on stage, Nya Kasan might bring more confidence to the game. That’s largely in part to her mother/manager Ebony “The Empress” Richardson. 2019 is going to be a huge year for the family. Ebony announced that she’s engaged and getting married on Valentine’s Day (February 14) and her 15-year-old son Emani is launching a cologne and clothing line. The Rap Game airs Thursdays at 9 pm on Lifetime.
