In the Blue Bloods episode “By Hook or by Crook”, while Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) faces Luis Delgado (Lou Diamond Phillips), the drug cartel hitman responsible for torching his house, Eddie (Vanessa Ray) reluctantly introduces her former partner (now fiancé) Jamie (Will Estes) to her mother, Lena (Christine Ebersole). Eddie tries to explain to Jamie, “My mother has scared off every boyfriend I’ve ever introduced her to.” Jamie doesn’t take no for an answer.
Eddie’s Mom Lena Janko is portrayed by Broadway star Christine Ebersole. The Tony Award winner (Grey Gardens) is known for her roles on Madam Secretary (First Lady Lydia Dalton), Royal Pains (Ms. Newberg), Saturday Night Live as a SNL Newsbreak Anchor (1981-1982), and in the films The Wolf of Wall Street (Leah Belfort, SEE LINK ABOVE), Richie Rich (Regina Rich), and Amadeus (Katerina Cavalieri), among others. Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10 pm on CBS, right after Hawaii Five-0.
