The Lifetime movie The Lover in the Attic: A True Story tells the story of Dolly, a married woman who has an affair with the repairman, Otto (Kevin Fonteyne). She turns the affair up a notch (or two) by keeping Otto (who’s an aspiring writer) in her attic as her sex slave. Or as she describes it “our perfect love nest.” When Otto hears Dolly and her husband Fred (David Fierro) having an argument, he kills Fred. Dolly collects the insurance money, moves to Los Angeles, and brings Otto as her secret sex slave. P.S. This is all happening in the 1920s — pearls, curls and cigarettes galore.

Dolly is portrayed by Molly Burnett. She’s known for her roles on Queen of the South (Kelly Anne Van Awken), General Hospital (Maxie Jones), CSI: Cyber (Nina Moore), and Days of Our Lives (Melanie Jonas, for which she was nominated for 2 Daytime Emmy Awards), among others. Fun fact: Burnett made her acting debut in a 2007 episode of Grey’s Anatomy as “waiting room girl.” The Lover in the Attic: A True Story premieres on Lifetime on Sunday, October 21 at 8 pm.
