On the sixth night of Blind Auditions on The Voice, Season 15, a young man named Funsho sings the Bruno Mars hit song “Finesse.” Adam Levine is the first to hit his buzzer. Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson follow soon after. All three coaches stand and dance for the rest of Funsho’s performance. Adam is the first to ask the singer his name and where he’s from. When Funsho says he’s from Nigeria, Adam is quick to mention that his wife is from Namibia. Blake Shelton jokes that Adam is making “The Continent Connection.” (Nigeria to Namibia is about 2300 miles; like New York to Las Vegas.)

Levine’s wife of four years and mother of his two children is former Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo. She was born in South Africa but raised in Grootfontein, Namibia (population 23,793). Her family is Afrikaner and she grew up speaking Afrikaans. In grade school she was taught in English; she left school in the ninth grade to pursue her modeling career. The Voice airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
