MTV has created another reality TV show about young mothers, Pretty Little Mamas. It’s about five best friends in San Diego, California who struggle to balance motherhood, careers, and relationships. Struggle is a stretch. The star of the show Nicole lives with her rich parents and has a full-time nanny. According to MTV, the twentysomething moms “wear the trendiest looks, get the cutest guys and go to the hottest parties – all while being moms.”

In the first episode, the queen bee of the group, 24-year-old Nicole, throws a party for herself and is eager to introduce her new “amazing” boyfriend of two months, Michael, to the group. She’s disappointed when Michael shows up “like Justin Bieber” — shaking hands with her friends in the party crowd like they’re his fans. (He keeps his mirrored aviator sunglasses on, too.) When Nicole voices her disappointment with Michael in front of everyone, Michael tells her that his grandmother is “really sick,” and then adds, “she passed.” Nicole calls him out for lying and embarrassing her. She then demands that he leave the party. “He’s hammered,” she says. Even though her friends tell her she shouldn’t have to “babysit her boyfriend,” Nicole says she thinks he’s the one. P.S. Nicole isn’t the only one with boyfriend troubles; during the second episode, Chandlar, 25, struggles to get rid of boyfriend Aaron. Pretty Little Mamas airs Thursdays at 9pm on MTV.
