In the Season 5 premiere of Empire, “Steal From the Thief,” Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) are still trying to pick up the pieces after losing Empire to Eddie Barker (Forest Whitaker). But they haven’t lost their ear for music. Cookie is determined to find a new sound, “like when people first heard Prince,” she says. And it looks like she found it in young singer Treasure, who sings the song “So Cold.”
Treasure is portrayed by Katlynn Simone. As an actress, the 22-year-old from Houston, Texas is known for her roles on The Quad (Browyn), Ray Donovan (Maia), and The Game (Brit Brat), among others. As a singer, Simone is known for her singles “You Got It” (2018) and “H-Town” (2017). She’s accomplished all of that and graduated from UCLA this year. Empire airs Wednesdays at 8pm on FOX.
