Lifetime is airing the one-hour special Jordin Sparks: A Baby Story on Thursday, September 6. The cameras follow the 28-year-old American Idol winner (2007) right after she eloped with fitness model Dana Isaiah Thomas in Hawaii in November. Sparks and Thomas talk about their surprise pregnancy and their decision to have a natural childbirth. On May 2, 2018, they welcomed son Dana Isaiah Thomas, Jr., aka DJ, to world.
It’s been three years since Sparks released an album (Right Here Right Now, 2015) but you can hear her as the voice of Daisy in the 2018 movie Show Dogs (see link above). Sparks’s next movie is a spiritual drama, God Bless the Broken Road, from the director of the God’s Not Dead movies. It’s about a young mother who loses her husband in Afghanistan. She struggles to raise her daughter until she meets a handsome race car driver. Sparks plays the widow’s friend who implores the widow to lean on her faith. God Bless the Broken Road comes to theaters on Friday, September 7. Jordin Sparks: A Baby Story airs Thursday, September 6 at 10pm on Lifetime.
