On Season 2 of The Gong Show, The Amazing Chipps Cooney will perform in front of judges Rob Riggle (The Daily Show), Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken, Community), and Kristen Schaal (The Last Man on Earth). Chipps is known for performing “bad” magic tricks while doing a stand-up comedy routine. This isn’t the 78-year-old’s first time on prime-time TV. He’s performed on Little Big Shots: Forever Young and on America’s Got Talent (Season 5, 2010), where he made it to the quarterfinals.

But before Little Big Shots and America’s Got Talent, Chipps appeared on the big screen, too. He plays an angry, violent man in Adam Sandler’s 2006 film The Benchwarmers (see movie streaming link above) with Andy Spade, Rob Schneider and Jon Heder. Fun fact: Chipps also appeared in two short films written and directed by Louis C.K. in the early 1990s, Caesar’s Salad and Ice Cream. See video below. The Gong Show airs Thursdays at 8pm on ABC.
