On the fourth round of qualifiers on Season 2 of World of Dance, judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo meet teenage ballroom dancers Jonas and Ruby from Miami, Florida. Jonas and Ruby perform to the anthem “Legend” by The Score. The lyrics include “Won’t stop till we’re legends” and it looks like Jonas and Ruby mean every word they dance to. Wearing black costumes with red lining (she’s wearing a cape and he’s wearing a bolero jacket), at times the couple look like matadors fighting an invisible bull!
This isn’t Jonas and Ruby’s first time on TV. They competed on America’s Got Talent Season 8 in 2013, when Ruby was just 9 and Jonas was 10. The judges were impressed. Mel B told Jonas, “The way you move your hips is amazing.” Heidi Klum said, “I didn’t want it (the performance) to end.” Ruby and Jonas made it to the AGT quarterfinals before being eliminated. Ruby’s brother D’Angelo and his dance partner Amanda auditioned and advanced too! See video below. World of Dance airs Tuesdays at 10pm on NBC.
