During the fifth round of qualifiers for Season 2 of World of Dance, judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo meet 12-year-old contemporary dancer Madison Brown. Before her performance, the tween revealed that due to her father’s job, she and her family has had to move a lot, which makes making friends difficult. Madison has found comfort in dance and is appreciative of her mother Jennifer Mazyck-Brown who, no matter which city they’re in, has always found a dance studio for Madison. She is currently living in Wellington, Florida. Madison told Wellington Magazine that “Jenny from the Block” was her mother’s nickname! (Hear that, JLo?!!!0

Madison’s performance on World of Dance, which was infused with ballet, was stunning. Ne-Yo was impressed with her twist of the traditional leg stretch and Jennifer Lopez was in awe of Madison’s “womanly quality.” When asked what would happen if she wins World of Dance, Madison said: “My parents might let me get a dog.” New episodes of World of Dance air Tuesdays at 10pm on NBC, right after America’s Got Talent.
