On Season 2 of World of Dance, junior ballroom dancers Jonas and Ruby of Miami, Florida compete during the fourth round of qualifiers. The teenagers have been dancing and competing together for years. In 2013, at the age of 9 (Ruby Castro) and 10 (Jonas Terleckas), they competed on America’s Got Talent, Season 8. They made it to the quarterfinals. But that was five years ago. The dancing duo deliver more mature performances now. At the World of Dance qualifiers, they give a razor-sharp performance set to the anthem “Legend” by The Score.

While watching Jonas and Ruby perform, we couldn’t help but imagine Derek Hough as a young ballroom dancer. Jonas has a similar complexion, a similar stature on the dance floor, and he can move his hips just like a younger Hough, who is now 33. (Hough, for the record, can still really move his hips.) World of Dance airs Tuesdays at 10pm on NBC.
See a resemblance?
