The Season 3 premiere episode of Shades of Blue, “Good Police,” follows Harlee (Jennifer Lopez) and Wozniak (Ray Liotta) as they continue to deal with their near-death experiences. They also meet the new Captain, Daniel Pines, who’s described as “a kiss-high, kick-low new captain who wants to change the way his precinct is run and believes he can control Wozniak. Captain Pines is portrayed by Max Casella.
Max Casella is known for his roles on The Detour (Joe Delicious), Vinyl (Julie Silver), Boardwalk Empire (Leo D’Alessio), The Bronx Is Burning (Dick Howser), The Sopranos (Benny Fazio, see link above), and Doogie Howser, M.D. (best friend Vinnie Delpino), among others. Casella is also recognized for his roles in the films Jackie with Natalie Portman as the First Lady (Jack Valenti), Inside Llewyn Davis (Pappi Corsicato) and in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine (Eddie). Shades of Blue airs Sundays at 10pm on NBC. This is the third and final season!
