Sean “Diddy” Combs is back on FOX with his singing talent show The Four: The Battle for Stardom. With him at the judges panel is DJ Khaled and Meghan Trainor. Host Fergie will introduce the new four emerging artists. They are — Latin pop star Stephanie Zelaya, soul singer Carvena Jones, former boy band member James Graham, and hip hop artist Sharaya J.
Soul singer Carvena Jones grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, singing in church. She won her first talent show when she was just 13. That’s when she says her family first heard her sing solo. When asked who she would compare herself to stylistically, Carvena says if Whitney Houston and Prince had a baby, “I would be their child.” She added with a laugh, “And Tina Turner would be my grandma.” Girl knows her musical legacy, right? The Four: The Battle for Stardom airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
