Joe Smith played college basketball at Maryland before becoming the No. 1 pick at the 1995 NBA draft. He was picked by the Golden State Warriors. The 6’10” power forward went on to play for the 76ers, Timberwolves, Pistons, Bucks, Nuggets, Bulls, Thunder, Cavaliers, Hawks, Nets and Lakers. He retired in 2011. Smith was recently interviewed on CNBC by former MLB baseball star Alex Rodriguez. Smith told A-Rod about how he lost his $61 million in NBA earnings and is in debt. A-Rod is helping Smith (and Kisha) get back on track with a financial plan. Smith currently runs the Joe Smith Basketball Academy for adults, and boys and girls in Atlanta. Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta airs Saturdays at 8pm on TLC.
