The Lifetime movie The Wrong Daughter (originally titled Love Me or Else) is about young couple Kate and Joe who want to start a family with her husband. While considering in vitro fertilization options, the daughter that Kate gave up for adoption 17 years ago, shows up on her doorstop. Her name is Danica (Sydney Sweeney) and she’s ready to move in with Kate and Joe. The problem is Danica isn’t who she says she is. Her real daughter (Sierra Pond) calls Kate to tell her, “The girl who’s pretending to be me is not your daughter.” When the real daughter shows up to confront the impostor (who’s real name is Samantha), all hell breaks loose.
Kate is portrayed by Cindy Busby. The Canadian-born actress is known for her roles on Date My Dad (Stephanie), When Calls the Heart (Marlise Bennett), Cedar Cove (Rebecca Jennings), and Heartland (Ashley Stanton), among others.
