In the NCIS: New Orleans episode “The Assassination of Dwayne Pride,” Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) becomes the target of a scathing article. Written by journalist Oliver Crane (guest star Mark Gessner), the article documents Pride’s “reckless use of justice.” He’s called a vigilante who abuses power. A crowd of protesters gather outside the team’s office. Pride being Pride, he goes outside to try to talk to them but they won’t listen. When one of the protesters throws a brick at Pride (which has the words “Die Pride” on it), the team pulls Pride back inside. They’re just exercising their right to protest, Prides tells his team. Throwing a brick at someone with intent is actually assault. And threatening the life of a federal agent is pretty serious, too.

JAG ADA Rita Devereaux (Chelsea Field, Bakula’s real life wife!) warns Pride that someone in D.C. is behind the article, and that’s there’s more to come. NCIS: New Orleans airs Tuesdays at 10pm on CBS, right after Bull.
