Retired MLB baseball star Johnny Damon is competing on Season 26 of Dancing with the Stars. It’s a special four-week competition featuring 10 professional athletes called Dancing with the Stars Athletes. While the two-time World Series champion is the only baseball player competing on DWTS: Athletes, it’s not Damon’s first time on a reality TV show.

Just three years ago, in 2015, when Donald Trump was the star of The Celebrity Apprentice and not President of the United States, Damon competed on Trump’s celebrity entrepreneur show (Damon lost to Leeza Gibbons). At that time, Trump commended Damon for his acumen on The Celebrity Apprentice by calling him “a tough cookie” — cookie being one of Trump’s favorite phrases. (He calls fellow celeb reality star businessman billionaire Mark Cuban a “smart cookie” in this interview.) When Trump ran for President, Johnny Damon spoke at a Trump rally in Florida. At the rally Damon said: “People wonder why I like Donald Trump. I actually love the guy. Why? Because he likes winners, he likes to win, he likes everything to be great, not just for him but for everybody, and he wants to make America great again.” Dancing with the Stars: Athletes airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
