On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills episode “Gag Gift,” it’s Lisa Vanderpump’s birthday. Everyone gathers around on the terrace including her husband Ken Todd. When it comes time to open gifts, Vanderpump opens a gift from Erika Girardi. It’s a gorgeous silk scarf. Lisa says, “Erika must really be warming up to me, see what it says there (on the scarf)? Blind for love.” (That’s a $470 Gucci scarf.) When Vanderpump wraps the scarf around her neck and says thank you, Erika says, “We’re going to run off together someday, you and I.” And then Vanderpump opens a gift from Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave. It’s a bear backpack from Hoofprint. Teddi explains, “So you can ride without a saddle.” Lisa LOVES it. “Teddi Bear, you’re my new best friend.” And then it comes time to open a gift from Dorit.
It’s a bracelet and Dorit points out the eclipse in it. When Lisa asks “Are you talking about the eclipse in our relationship?” An awkward moment of silence follows. “Is there an eclipse in our relationship?” Dorit asks. “There was a little blight. We were in the shade for a little while,” says Lisa. As Kyle Richards says, “This is Lisa’s way of finally punishing Dorit” and in front of everyone. Can Dorit stand it? No…she walks out saying, “I think we’ve celebrated enough.” Dorit was trying to repair her relationship with Lisa Vanderpump but as Erika Girardi points out “That’s how Lisa Vanderpump does it. Every insult is always sheathed in a joke.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Bravo.
