In the Young Sheldon episode “A Sneeze, Detention, and Sissy Spacek,” the flu hits Medford. Nine-year-old germophobe Sheldon (Iain Armitage) goes to great pains to protect himself. He dons a mask, surgical gloves and creates a bubble environment in the garage. His excessive behavior eventually lands him in the principal’s office — and detention.
