ABC 20/20 is interviewing the cast of Roseanne which is reuniting for a reboot of the 1990s hit sitcom starring stand-up comedian Roseanne Barr. All of the Connors are back including John Goodman (husband Dan), Laurie Metcalf (sister Jackie), Sara Gilbert (daughter Darlene), Michael Fishman (son DJ), and the two actresses who played daughter Becky. The original Becky was portrayed by Alicia “Lecy” Goranson. She left the show in 1993 to go to college. She attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York where she studied poetry and played on the school’s rugby team. Goranson currently lives in New York and enjoys the arts (see photo below of her with New York Times art critic Jerry Saltz).
Sara Chalke, who played Becky from 1993 to 1997 and went on to played Dr. Elliott Reid on another successful sitcom Scrubs, will return on the Roseanne revival as a different character named Andrea. 20/20 airs Thursdays at 10pm on ABC. The new Roseanne premieres Tuesday, March 27 at 8pm on ABC. The title of the premiere episode is “Twenty Years to Life.”
