In light of the massive success of talent/singing TV shows (American Idol, America’s Got Talent), FOX is rolling out The Four: Battle for Stardom. The four panelists are DJ Khaled (who recently was a guest judge on America’s Got Talent), Sean “Diddy” Combs, “All About That Bass” singer/songwriter Meghan Trainor, and music executive Charlie Walk. Fergie of Black Eye Peas fame is the host.
[The DNCE album includes the hit Cake By the Ocean]
Walk is the President of The Republic Group. He’s worked with The Weeknd, Lorde and Ariana Grande. He personally signed Hailee Steinfeld (see photo below) and co-created Joe Jonas’ new band DNCE, and when President of Epic Records (2005-2008), steered the released of Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie.” Walk said about joining The Four: “Discovering and developing talent remains the most important, consistent driver of my home, Republic Records.” Walk said that as a panelist he will guide the new talent “every step of the way on their journey, starting on the most transparent stage on television.” The Four airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
