In the Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 5 fall finale episodes “The Favor,” mobster Seamus Murphy returns to the precinct. Wearing a black leather blazer and lots of gold jewelry, Seamus is looking to redeem the favor Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) owes him. Luckily Holt has New York’s finest to help him find a loophole so he doesn’t have to hold up his end of the bargain. Now if they can only find the loophole without breaking the law.
[Adelstein was in the Oscar-nominated The Grifters]
Seamus Murphy is portrayed by Paul Adelstein. He’s known for his roles on Prison Break (Paul Kellerman), Scandal (Leo Bergen), Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce (Abby’s ex Jake), Private Practice (Dr. Cooper Freedman), and Hack (Aldo Rossi), among others. Fun fact about Adelstein: He made his acting debut in the Stephen Frears 1990 movie The Grifters with John Cusack, Anjelica Huston and Annette Bening. (That’s a good movie, btw.) Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Tuesdays at 9pm on FOX.
