In the Superior Donuts episode “Error of Admission,” Franco (Jermaine Fowler) is delighted to hear that he’s been accepted to his dream school. But then he finds out that his boss Arthur (Judd Hirsch) included his ethnicity on the application. Franco wanted to get into the school based solely on the merits of his art. The ordeal forces Franco to consider giving up his admission.
Dean Mathers is portrayed by Jim Rash. The comedic writer/actor is known for his roles on Community (Dean Pelton), Reno 911! (Andrew), and That ‘70s Show (Fenton), among others. Rash won an Oscar for Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay for the 2012 film The Descendants starring George Clooney. Rash famously posed like Angelina Jolie at the Oscar Awards ceremony by posing like her on stage with her thigh-high slit (see photo below). Superior Donuts airs Mondays at 9pm on CBS, right after Man With a Plan, and right before 9JKL.
