In the 9JKL episode ‘It Happened One Night,’ while Josh (Mark Feuerstein) coaches his cool friend Luke (Tone Bell) on how to break up with his girlfriend Sydney, Josh’s parents play bridge. Judy (Linda Lavin) and Harry (Elliot Gould) invite their rivals Dick and Lenore Stevenson over to play bridge. At one point during the game, Judy and Harry call their doctor son Andrew (David Walton) over to check on Dick’s health. Dick is portrayed by Fred Willard. He’s known for his roles on Modern Family (Phil’s father Frank), Everybody Loves Raymond (Amy’s father Hank), and in hilarious films including Best in Show (Buck, see it!), and Anchorman (Ed Harken), among many others.
Lenore is portrayed by Christina Pickles. She’s known for her roles on Friends (Monica and Ross’ mother Judy Geller) and St. Elsewhere (Nurse Helen Rosenthal), and in the films The Wedding Singer (Angie Sullivan), Romeo + Juliet (Caroline Montague), and Masters of the Universe (Sorceress of Castle Gray), among many others. 9JKL airs Mondays at 9:30pm on CBS, right after Superior Donuts, and right before Scorpion.
