In the NCIS: Los Angeles episode “Can I Get a Witness?,” LAPD Detective Ellen Whiting (Karina Logue) needs the help of Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen). His former partner, Lt. Roger Bates (Patrick St. Esprit) is missing, and Whiting suspects he’s running “a whole illegal racket.” At first Deeks says he won’t get involved but Whiting threatens to tell everyone that he killed his partner. Ouch.
Lt. Bates is portrayed by Patrick St. Esprit. St. Esprit is known for his roles on S.W.A.T. (Robert Hicks), Narcos (Major Wysession), Ray Donovan (Randall Dyckman), Ballers (Dallas Cowboys GM), Sons of Anarchy (Elliott Oswald), Saving Grace (Leo Hanadarko), and JAG (Col. Bootney), among many others. St. Esprit is also recognized for his roles in the films The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (Commander Thread, see photo below), Independence Day (Secretary of Defense), The Fate of the Furious (DS Allan), and Draft Day with Kevin Costner (Tom Michaels). NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sundays at 9:30pm on CBS, right before Madam Secretary.
