“When I saw you I saw raw, untamed power and beyond that… something truly special,” is how the new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi begins. The pulse-pounding music and pace let us know we’re in for an epic, and the mystery and excitement begins to build from the first note. It’s two-and-a-half minutes of supreme melodrama — in the best way possible. The trailer hints at so much, including Kylo Ren’s return to the dark side, Rey’s search for her identity and Luke Skywalker’s reconsidering the past — and what he missed when he first encountered evil strength.
