Things take as long as they take. That’s wisdom legendary New Yorker editor William Shawn once gave a writer trying to finish a long article. It remains true, even in our lightning fast digital age, that — stubbornly — things still take as long as they take. You just hope it’s worth the wait. That’s what A Perfect Circle fans are hoping after hearing the tease that 2004’s Emotive is finally getting a follow up. The band teased a new release this week, with no date but speculation points to 2018 — or sooner! Ready or not, here comes The Doomed.

[Emotive Limited Edition LP (12″ album, 33 rpm)]
The time is right for a band that, despite having tweeted a total of a couple hundred times, has 143K followers. It’s not like the band ever really went away. There’s been new Perfect Circle music, but no LP. (What’s an LP? It’s a whole bunch of songs at once, kids, in one place.) Here’s “Hourglass” below, which should be on ‘The Doomed.’ The band has been “doin stuff” at least since July (see below). Some of that stuff includes touring. They’re probably playing tonight, in fact.
